When a Client contacts me for a surprise proposal it’s always so much fun to figure out the logistics of how and when. For this destination proposal we thought it would be best having a photo session on the books so girlfriend wouldn’t figure it out and we wouldn’t have to do a hiding in the bushes type of maneuver.
We met in the Dumbo area of Brooklyn and headed to the Brooklyn Bridge for some iconic Couples Portraits on the Bridge. This Couple wanted a blend of city and nature portraits so I planned on heading to the waterfront area after the Bridge for the actual proposal.

At this point in the session I set my phone down to “record content” so I could video the actual proposal for them. I took a few minutes to set myself up and make sure the ring was ready to go. Having a game plan for a surprise proposal and also a few backup ideas is so imperative to make the proposal flawless.
