In 1996 I photographed my first Bat Mitzvah. I was in High School. Crazy, right? My second Mitzvah was a B'nai Mitzvah for my best friend's little sisters. From a young age I was surrounded by my friend's Jewish culture and loved being a part of it.
Mitzvahs are so special. I love listening to the kids recite their Torah passages, finding out why they chose it, and adore all of the creative and fun themes that 13 year olds choose for their celebration.
I'm honored to document each and every Mitzvah day.
