This Queer Destination Elopement was a true test in letting go and going with the flow when it comes to Elopement Plans. This Couple who lives in Florida had their Destination Elopement in Colorado and we made all of the plans to have them married in a scenic spot in Fairplay, Colorado near the cabin they rented. As their Elopement Date was getting closer we realized they were calling for a blizzard IN LATE MAY the weekend of their Elopement.
The day before the Elopement we had to call it and come up with a new and improved plan to ensure everyone’s safety. We decided they would have their celebrant marry them in Denver on Friday (99 degrees) and we would just do a fun photo shoot on Saturday in Fairplay (snowstorm). I am all for spontaneity and change of plans so that’s what we did.
The Denver portion of their Elopement was short and sweet. The celebrant met us at a park in Denver and these two married under a beautiful tree in front of a lake. They stopped for burgers at In and Out afterward to celebrate.

Early the next morning I stopped by their cabin in Fairplay, Colorado to document their day after marriage bliss. They enjoyed sharing coffee together, cuddled up outside to admire the mountain views and play in snow for the first times in their lives. This Destination Elopement in Colorado was so insanely special.
